Our project officially ended in June 2025, so it is unlikely that there will be any further updates. I privately fund this website, so I do not know how much longer it will be available. However, our webpage on the IMEAREAL website will remain accessible.
Following the publication of the proceedings of our project workshop in Verona (which we never claimed to be a ‘Mende follow-up’) open access in 2025, as well as eleven peer-reviewed papers in open access journals, we will continue to publish further papers on different aspects of the doors. In 2026 alone, three more papers are planned.
Unfortunately, due to severe health problems, work on our IMAREAL website has been significantly delayed. This website is going to host all the high-resolution images of the doors and individual panels, as well as the results of the chemical analyses carried out (which have by now also been published in related papers). We hope to complete this work by the end of 2026 and apologise for the delay.
In the meantime, anyone interested can email me and my team directly to request images or the results of our chemical analyses.
