Gates to Paradise: Creating metal doors for 11th-12th century churches

After a long year of proposal writing, obtaining permissions for documentation and analyses, and a pandemic, we finally received the fantastic news from the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) that our project was evaluated excellent and will receive funding (project no. P 34477-G). The official start of the project will be January 1, 2022. Until then, we already plan to organise our traveling for the documentation of all the 25 bronze doors and launch our online presence to keep you up to date!
